Creative Life

Hi all!
I thought I'd start writing blog posts about my experiences as a creative. For those of you that haven't met or talked to me before, I'm a creative artist that works in music and film. I've been working in the creative industry for 11 years now in various roles from singing, sound operating, acting, accent coaching, project coordination, songwriting, assistant directing, script supervising and more. I tend to be that person that has dabbled in a lot of different roles, picking up various skills on the way - because I love working with other creatives on projects and seeing that finished project.
I know there's the assumption that creative life is clutching at pennies and that you'll be worse off for choosing it over other fields - but in my experience this is far from the truth. I'm by no means a big shot - I'm definitely a rather small fish in the sea. However, we always hear how difficult it is to get into the field or how impossible it is - when I could write honestly to you and give you an idea on how creative life really works - because in many ways it feels like a culture rather than a job. Positive attitude and friends (networking! Yes, you should think of it a bit like a huge group of friends!) is paramount to sustaining it. Stick around and I'm sure you'll laugh, gasp and gain real insight into what this life is life :-) Nice to meet you and I'll look forward to telling you all about my future projects!
